Patricia Forelle artist
Bio & Exhibitions
Ever since Ms. Krebs's kindergarten class where I fingerpainted in exclusively navy and violet I have considered myself an artist. While I continued to “paint” in other media, reading, writing, dance and piano kept me engaged. Later language and travel left their marks on my creativity. It wasn’t until university that I focused on art. I immersed myself in courses in two-dimensional and three-dimensional work, figure drawing, painting and art history. I edited or co-edited all my school's art publications. I was the art representative to the college council. I spent hours painting. Further studies in Boston, New York and Paris enhanced my artistic vision. Almost more than the technical training, my work continues to recall what I have done, the places where I live and the many places I have visited. Ballet from three years old to 60. Piano, including performance, from seven years old to the present. My lifelong interest in France, its language and culture, where I have lived part time for almost 30 years. These experiences are in my paintings. Striving for beauty, elegance and joy are the drivers of my artwork. I’ll never fully achieve these goals but it is in the trying that I find satisfaction and the need to continue to paint every day.
I received a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art from Newton College of the Sacred Heart (now a part of Boston College). Additional art studies include the School at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, the Art Students League in New York, the American Centre in Paris and the National Arts Club in New York. Also, I earned a Master of Arts from New York University in French Language and Civilization. I am an Exhibiting Artist member of the National Arts Club in New York, a member of the Vero Beach Art Club and an Associate Member of the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club.
I regularly participate and exhibit at the National Arts Club, the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club, the Vero Beach Art Club, Friends of Contemporary Art and "Arts in Public Places" with the Indian River Cultural Council. I am now busy preparaing for a public solo exhibition in 2024 in New York at the National Arts Club.
